I can't speak for everyone, only myself. But it's not from lack of trying. I have asked the first question of myself many times but I don't have the answers. Maybe you don't need therapy but I do. And you know, I'm happy for you that you feel that you are well situated and satisfied with your life. I'm not being facetious. Truly, good for you.

I feel like I have no right to complain either, so I have swallowed my feelings and hoped for the best. It hasn't worked out for me. That's why I'm in therapy. You don't know everyone's backstory. You don't know what has happened in their lives. Your post is rude, if not misguided. Do you know for a FACT that medication and therapy do not work for every single person on the planet? Medication actually DOES help many people. And therapists are not there to solve your problems; they are there to help you figure it out yourself. I recognize your willingness to help out, but part of that is to just LISTEN and try to understand where someone is coming from. Just my 2 cents.

I think it's a good question. A study showed that people are most happy when they are in their 80's. The rest of us are so busy trying to succeed, thinking happiness can be achieved through some imagined success, that we don't look inward where true happiness and fulfillment really exists.

I guess we're just going to have to wait until our 80's when we look like Hell, but don't care; we have no need for recognition or fear of rejection, and at long last we can relax into ourselves, and just "Be"

phrooot toot toot...aaaaaahhhhhhhhhh
