My past is filled with a lot of painful memories. I don't think I have to go too in depth about this. Many times when others don't give me their utmost attention, I become a little bit ticked. I want them to know that I am a creature with dignity, a creature entitled to respect as much as everyone else. It hurt me to see that many of my own kind did not respect me and neither did others. Sometimes I think I'm an alien because my own race does not respect me and many of the people I have known from the past who were not of my race disrespected me. I cried for a fairly long time and when I think back to those moments I give myself more pain. I wish the past would just disappear but it won't.

I wish my past would, too. Not just the past past, but even things that happened five minutes ago. I can't just let go of it. Why does it hurt so much? I know...

I used to feel that way also....but i am reading that we must come to terms or accept our past, and then we can put it behind us. When we live in the past, it's like we are living in a dream. That part of our life is over. It's time to make new memories, the way that you want life to be for you.
It helps if you can say a prayer of forgiveness for those who hurt you, and also for yourself. To start fresh, each new day is a blessing. Try to replace the negative thoughts with good thoughts of what you would like to see in your life, and you will focus more on the good stuff. My thoughts are with you. This is a tough one for me, and it requires constant awareness of my thoughts drifting to the past, and reverting them to right here and now. The past is gone. Let's look at what is here! Sandra |
