I've learned that acknowledging your problems, addressing them, and trying to work through them are those key steps to help yourself get better. But how do you cope when no one is around to really help you with these steps?

I don't mean I have absolutely nobody in my life, I mean I don't have anyone who can truly understand, and therefore truly can't help me. It's hard knowing my T is the only one who understands me and my problems. It's hard to live with others who can not or will never truly understand my problems. And it breaks my heart to know my loved ones, who want to help but can't because they have never had the same problems as I do.

How do you cope without family and friends who understand you?

Sorry to hear this, I sometimes feel this way myself, tho I have a few distant friends and relatives who do deal with similar issues! I do mostly find PC a big help! Guess the way I cope is to just manage as best I can, just as I do some physical ailments. Easier said than done at times. One of my best "pills" is laughter, and another is helping others. But everyone is different. I wish you the best, GenCat, and hang in there. Would welcome hearing more from you!
Thanks for this!

Hi GenCat,

Sorry to hear you're feeling awful. I am in the same boat. No friends or support system where I am living. My family is not a support to me. Been severely depressed for a year. I just try to exist. I don't cope, really. We're here for you on PC, I am. I look forward to seeing your posts, or message me anytime.

Hugs, Gracez
