I have trouble keeping my emotions in check. Lately, I have been able to stop myself when I start to feel upset.

But people around me always notice how sad I look. I might be feeling okay, but a brief moment of sadness leaves my face looking pretty sullen. It's hard for me to hide the sadness in my face. I feel like this is a problem because it leads my friends & partner to believe I'm sad when I'm just pushing through my emotions.

How do you deal with this? Is there something I can tell people when they ask me if I'm sad?

I know what you mean. I have the same problem. If i don't look sad, I look mad. My face always has a "grimace" and i don't mean to. My poor granddaughter used to think I was mad all the time.

All we can do is work on it I guess. God bless. Hugs. Lee

Yes, this is my experience too. I've read that "thinking" about a pleasant experience and locking it in is helpful. I seem to always be concentrating, or thinking...good post, thanks

I too have this same problem & when I'm asked I just say I'm tired. This seems to do the trick. Hang in there!
