Our desires, the emotions we yearn for;
Love, happiness, and exhilaration, the emotions that make us feel alive. We all strive for them, they're what we desire. So how can we achieve them? That's what I'm trying to figure out, because I've grown restless with the numbness and emptiness. I want to cry when I'm sad, and laugh when I'm happy and experience true emotions. I want to feel like I'm living. I'm positive right now and I feel like this is all accomplishable, but how? I know this rare moment of optimism will wear out within the hour, but I just felt motivated to express this. How can these emotions be achieved? How can life once again become life?

Basically you're asking how to overcome depression. I think if we knew how to do that, a huge part of this website would be unnecessary. You can't just will the emptiness away. You have to fill it with something and many (if not most people) need help to figure out how to do that. They benefit from therapy or medication or both or a combination of the two or other things completely. It varies person to person and condition from condition.
