I haven't felt this lonely in years. This night turned into garbage. Although its temporary, it still sucks none the less.

I live in a house with two other people and I still feel lonely most of the time. I'm a person who has a very difficult time even making small talk. It seems like such a waste. I truly hope someday it gets better for me and I hope the same for you and all those out there like us.
Thanks for this!

This isn't something I feel very often, but I share your dread at the moment... it's an awful feeling. Thank you so much for the reply. I wish you the best.

I feel the same way and I live with two-four other people. You don't need to be alone to feel lonely :/

I'm in the same boat. I'm down to two close friends but have some good neighbors. My close friends are far away...one I email weekly with and the other I write to and talk on the phone with about once a month. I've met a couple of people who could become friends, but I have no assurance of that as yet. I'm getting older, birthday this month and I'll be 73. Yikes! JFK was killed on my 23rd birthday, so every year I am reminded of this. I'd rather not be, such a terrible memory. My aunt called and said, "Turn on the TV quick, the President's been shot." I have never been so lonely in my life. I used to have lots and lots of close friends. Had to dump the bad ones. Am now down to almost nothing. But I am grateful for the ones I do have. How do we get out of this deep hole of loneliness when we don't want to deal with people most of the time?

I suppose the worst feeling of loneliness is when you are in relationship /marriage/friendship ,yet you feel utterly lonely, and unable to even share ,not to disclose to people how inappropriate your feelings are and not to deprecate your partner
. Put on a smile, tell yourself "I am fine and all is good" ,put on your favorite music and try not to think of loneliness .I try to imagine myself in a different situation ,where I am someone worthy and loved, connected emotionally...sometimes it works
Give it a try
Sorry you feel that way
Hope you'll be happier soon
Thanks for this!
