I had a misunderstanding in class today. I feel irrationally angry about it. I have no right to be angry.
I'm the one who gave the wrong impression about what I believed. I'm the one who didn't consider how it would be interpreted. I'm the one who felt she had to say something, even if it was stupid. I'm the one who opened her big fat stupid mouth. If I could only have thought about it better and not have spoken on impulse, I wouldn't have gotten scolded. Of course I was going to get scolded if I said stupid things, and I should learn not to say stupid things in the future, so I won't have to get scolded. That's how the world works. I just hate to admit that I deserved it, even if my prof jumped to the wrong conclusion. Wouldn't have happened if I kept my mouth shut. |

I am sorry things didn't go good for you in class today. Why are you saying you have no right to be angry? We never know how things we say are going to be interpreted. I bet what you said wasn't stupid either. If your professor scolded you in front of the class that is wrong. I would be angry too!

Remember other people have their own problems. The class will forget. The teacher should not do that.

Pianogirl is right, prof should NOT scold in front of
whole class. Could you ask him if there is anything critical to say, would he mind calling you to side or outside room to discuss it,as to say out loud in class is embarrassing? |

I'm in a country where teachers or profs are highly feared and respected. They love to insult and shout at us. I dont think it is right.

Thanks for mentioning that. I had forgotten that teaching methods vary by place. Here it is not an acceptable teaching method, although I have experienced it a few times. Usually by teachers who appeared to have their own prejudices and problems.
