I'm 19 and I've been seeing a therapist for a few months. I was diagnosed with GAD. Anyways, lately I've been dreading my weekly appointments. Like the stress that comes with it, the fact that I'm so shy and quiet in the sessions, all these things get me so mad that i just want to quit all together. I honestly have no idea how to tell my therapist this without feeling that I offended her. She told me I could email her anytime with anything but i feel like it's so rude. She's amazing it has nothing to do with her at all.

What should I do?

Tell your T something like "therapy is really stressful for me. I sometimes don't want to come because of the stress. Is there anything I can do to make it less stressful?" Just make sure to explain why. I told my T that I don't like going to therapy and I didn't explain why. Things haven't been the same since that session.

I agree with subliminal. I would email her your thoughts on it "therapy is stressful for me/I get a lot of anxiety that I can't express correctly or talk about. How do I fix it?" Or something of the like. I like emailing rather than face to face where I can think and edit rather than risk offending someone with careless phrasing. Hope this helped
