I only have the power to change myself.
Anger is a signal that something needs to change. It turns out that what needs to change in all cases is myself. Accept the things we cannot change at this moment and change the things we can. I accept that I am around people who have more to figure out than I do. I understand. We all start from scratch. I would be a fool to expect anyone to be anything other than what they are. I focus on figuring out the things I need to figure out. |

I don't think you really have to totally change yourself. I just need to change the way I process information that is given to me anytime someone speaks to me.

Yes, it is our perception that changes when we see things in their true light.
When our beliefs do not line up with reality we experience inner conflict. Our feelings come from our thoughts which come from our beliefs. |

What has happened that makes you feel this way?

Seems a bit sweeping to say that the only thing that needs to change is yourself - could it be that there are other options - could you change the way you think about something if there are no other options? Might this be better than futile anger?

I think you are right. My inner anger got way out of control and it is based on my responses to other people's wys.

I really wanted to acknowledge to you that I love this statement that you made Indefatigable:
"I only have the power to change myself." I 100% believe this to be true. And I often have to remind myself - if there's change to be made, it must start with me ![]() (I get caught up in my own vices sometimes) |
