Lately I have been feeling loney. This usually happens when I'm on summer break from school but I hate going to school because of my anxiety. I think I would rather be loney but I hate feeling lonely. I just feel like there's no one to even talk to. I just want to do things with people but there's no one around and even when I am around people I still feel lonely but those are the people I am around a lot. If I go out to a store I'm fine at that moment but once I go back home the loneliness feeling comes back. How do you deal with this?

Are there any activities you enjoy where you can meet people and have something to do? Sometimes sport or volunteer groups are good for that - you are out and interacting with people but it's not purely social so it can also ease some of the anxiety as you have other things to focus on.
Thanks for this!

Thanks. I would say a volunteer group but then my anxiety comes into question with that. That's the reason why I don't have a job. As for sports I'm not really a sports person. It's hard because of my anxiety too but at the same time I don't want to be lonely.

I have a couple years ago. I remember what it was like before going to work every day and it was just awful with my anxiety. Just thinking about working again makes my stomach hurt. I know I have to get a job eventually but I can't bring myself to do it.

This happens to me a lot. I could be around a lot of people and still feel lonely. My anxiety around others doesnt help. And then, when I do come home, everything seems to get worse. The lonliness causes a lot of my depression. And boredom because I want to be out doing things with others. I wish I had something helpful to say, but I go through this too, especially today.

Yeah that's the same thing I am thinking so I know eventually I won't have a choice because my parents aren't going to support me forever(I'm still in high school) I do have a T. A couple years ago when I had a job she was really excited about it. She was kinda pushing me to get one this year but I told her I just really can't do it from the amount of anxiety I had over my first job. My mom gave me a break about working this summer so since then my T hasn't talked much about it

Oh you still in
High school? I wrongly assume you are an adult. You are so articulate and obviously very intelligent. I Apologize.

Working isn't required for you at this age but still could be beneficial. Even if few hours here and there. What if it is the kind job you don't need to work with others?.

Thanks and yeah but I will be 18 next year so I don't have a long time. If it was a job that other people weren't involved in then I would be fine. Like an online job I would be fine with but it's hard to find that and I can't work online for the rest of my life

I'm about your age, with a few of the problems you seem to have. I'm actually homeschooled, but I do get extremely lonely very quickly when my best friend doesn't have time for me. I start to think I should cultivate other friendships so that I would have other people to talk to, but the work involved in that seems so overwhelming, and I just don't have that energy. I don't really know how to help you but I do think I know kind of how you feel. I'm very sorry anyone else has to feel something like I do.

I can only imagine how lonely you feel being home schooled but at least you do have one best friend.
