I feel like a hideous on the inside person. I am super depressed and looking at peoples FB profiles who don't care about me, are super happy, and have hurt me in the past. I have a friend who thinks I get offended by everything and i disagree and it hurts my feelings a lot that he says this (I know, ironic). I feel like it's not supportive. I have social anxiety, and made a social anxiety group in my area. But as of late, I have next to nothing to do. I think I will go out of the house now though. Maybe for a walk.

Facebook is a problem for me too. While on one hand it's my way of staying current, not everything I want to know - especially when it involves exes or people I envy. I suppose I am either too afraid to block people or I'm a masochist and enjoy putting myself through it.

Thank you for the kind words and support. I went for a walk in the woods, ate dinner, and deactivated my facebook account.

I know what that's like. I feel like crap going on LinkedIn. It's real hard to see people you actually know doing so much better than you and being where you want to be at.

honestly, i think the best thing to do is to ignore facebook and those people.
i used to feel the same, i just got fed up of feeling inferior and stopped paying attention to them. try to focus your energy into something else, don't give yourself time to check up on their profiles. if you start an art project, or try learning an instrument (youtube tutorials, you can buy a keyboard for really cheap and teach yourself, it gets addictive in a good way!) or go gym and try to enhance your body then much of your attention will gravitate towards those goals. don't worry about them, they have good lives in terms of socializing etc but most of them have no passion, having a passion and a dream really gives life a genuine purpose and makes you want to live and achieve it. |

Starry Sky, I deleted my fb account. Why it is nothing more than a social gossip column where everyone brags, lies and forces their opinion down your throat with that stupid one eyed minion. I could care less. I was wasting so much time with invisible friends when my cat was begging for attention. I was neglecting my housework, my hobbies, my chores. It is a god send that i deleted it. And you know what? There is more honesty here in PC than any day on fb. You did the right thing. Just let each day unfold and pleasant surprises will come your way. blessings.

i am on facebook but at one time deleted it for a year. im back on now, but only look at it a few times a day, i feel like my life isn't as exciting as others and i don't belong there, but since i have such a big family and i don't live near them, i use it to keep in touch. i don't let others bother me and do share some of the posts with others, usually the funny ones about animals.good luck

No need to log on to FB so you can feel bad about yourself, by comparing yourself to others. It is good you dropped FB. Do not judge yourself by comparing yourself to others. Some of those "others" are worse off than you!

Another thing about Facebook, is that it's really easy to hide behind. It's so easy to go on there when I have a craving to do something social. My social anxiety does not get resolved this way though!

What you are doing off line, is what is going to help. Hang in there.
