I think I may have some narcissistic tendencies, and I know that I tick people off, and sometimes they find ways to get even.
When I get the sense I'm dealing with payback... I vacillate between feeling angry at them on one hand, and feeling like I deserve their wrath, on the other. I'm at a loss. What other way to approach what I'm dealing with? Can anyone else relate? I think (hope?) it may be a common human problem....

i think it is more of a common problem. it is human nature to have these emotions and feelings.it is how we choose to solve them in a positive way that matters. we all have to learn self control, but that is a hard thing to do sometimes. good luck

Shakespeare47, what do you think would happen if you realized you did something to tick another person off and apologised or asked what you could do to resolve the problem?

I have tried apologizing in the past, and it wasn't a good experience. The person took offense that I would dare suggest they couldn't handle what I was apologizing for.

If we think we do deserve some kind of punishment, does that mean we should just let people abuse us?
