I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how to deal with emotional outbursts? I go from 0 to 100 in a blink of an eye every time I am challenged by someone or things don't go my way. I am very quick to anger and I end up crying a lot of the time. I feel like I am constantly fighting with people and overreacting. It has affected my life in so many ways. I wasn't allowed to go to my sister's wedding because they were afraid of me having an outburst and most recently I have been summoned to court as my neighbour is trying to get a peace bond issued to me for an argument we had. I often feel like people are picking on me.
The other side of me is that I am an elementary school teacher and basketball coach. I am really good at my job and have won many teaching awards and have coached our basketball teams to several regional finals. I put my heart and soul into my teaching and I believe that I make a real difference. I am great with kids but can't seem to hold it together around adults. Any suggestions to help with this? I have ADHD and depression and I have been taking Dexedrine and Prozac daily for several years. Thank you. |

It is good you can show your feelings easily. Holding them in would be bad for someone like you, and would do more harm than good. Medications may have something to do with the irrational outbursts. Best to see you doctor about getting off the meds.
