Why did I do this to myself? I was watching Sting's Field of Gold video when I just broke down and cried, I had listened to this song before without tearing up, but then again, I didn't know all the lyrics or what the song meant. Anyways, then I clicked on a couple sad Disney moments videos (the scene in The Fox and the Hound where Widow Tweed drives Tod out to the forest to let him go just leaves me bawling every time), and then, on the suggested list of videos was the "saddest animal deaths in movies" and one of the saddest moments for me was when Marley dies in the movie Marley and Me, well, they used that image of Marley laying there dying on that steel surgical table as the thumbnail for the video and just thinking about that scene absolutely breaks my heart, mostly because my own dog was in that same spot, dying from wounds she received from an attack by another dog, and we had to say goodbye to her.

Anyways, now I can't stop crying, and I'm sobbing so hard I'm getting a headache, not to mention my sinuses are killing me. I keep replaying that scene where Marley dies over and over again in my head, and reliving the nightmare that was my own dog's death. I keep spiraling downward into ever darker territory and I need to stop that. But how? Writing this out has helped me calm down a bit, but every time I stop, that scene and the real life tragedy keep playing in my head again. Maybe I should splash some cold water on my face and play my new Pokémon Sun game for a while....

Maybe a walk where your senses are engaged with the outdoors. Dancing all by yourself?

I'm so sorry you are sad and very sorry about your dog. I lost my beautiful Golden Retriever Jesse to cancer about 5 years ago and it still chokes me up at times. I had a complete breakdown after and could not watch Marley and me or anything about losing a dog. I really do understand how seeing that thumbnail could effect you so deeply. I hope you are feeling better now. (((Hugs)))

Oh artchic when I lost my cat, I cried every day for a very long time and still get sad every time I think of her. Marley and me is the saddest movie. I cried my eyes out too. I like suggestion of getting outside. Overall staying busy helps. Sending hugs.

I'm really sorry you're feeling like this Try something more lighthearted maybe? Something that doesn't remind you of your dog?

I felt instantly better when I was done typing this out. I stopped crying almost immediately afterwards. Thank you all for your hugs and warm kind words.
