I hate my job and the bad treatment from the manager and owners so much I just want to walk out on them and leave them short staffed. It is seriously affecting my mental health and I hate it. But there is not another job I feel like I can do with my social anxiety! And I don't have a college degree. I have been looking for other jobs though. I have been taking xanax nearly every day to deal with my anger, anxiety, boredom, and dread at work. I have not had negative symptoms on the days I don't take it but I am worried I could be headed in that direction. Please say something that may help me! I am losing my head. Not really but I am FED UP.

What type of work do you do?

Have you thought about stocking items? That is what I do, stocking items at a large store called Canadian Tire. It's working alone and although it's an active job, it is not stressful.

I agree with scaredandconfused, there are a lot of jobs that might be a good fit for you if you don't want the social pressure. I used to do ad-set and merchandising for retail stores. Basically you just go from store to store changing their sale signs, putting up new products, etc. Other than doing what you need to do get everything you need, the job itself involves very little interaction with anyone. Maybe you could find something like that where you don't have to stress so much? If it's not an option to leave your current job, do you maybe want to talk more specifically about what's happening? Do you have an HR person you can talk to about what you're going through?

I'm a floater at a daycare. But it is not that. Everyone there never really knows what time they are going to leave because conditions change depending on how many kids are there. But me especially, I do not know until the day before the start of the week what time I will be working. And I hate that. I want to go to college but I have no time to do that because things at work are unpredictable and I would miss classes. I don't really want to talk to my boss about it because I hate the way she has an attitude about anything and everything and makes me feel like my problem does not matter and is bothering her. I had to go to the hospital one day and they would not answer the phone so I left a message. They claimed I was a no call no show! I had no idea a place would not check their messages; when I am there they always have the phone and carry it around in their pockets. And the boss waited like a week a half to say anything to me about it and even threw it in my face. "So can we count on you to be here (a certain day)?" I said, "Yes. Of course. Why couldn't you?" And she said, "Well you're always calling out sick." I had not called out sick in a long time, and it was an emergency and I told her. "So it was just a fluke," she commented.

No, it was an emergency.

I have considered doing a stocking job.

I am also afraid because this is my first job and I know what to expect. I don't want to be "that new person" again. I know this is necessary of course.
