how do we deal with emotions in a positive way??
well for one we have to be willing to feel what ever it is we feel and not try and stop the feelings, or numb them or ignore them but to be in the moment and actually feel what it is thats going on inside of us, and that my friends is not an easy task, but for us to get better that has to be done.

I absolutely agree with you. I typically repress my feelings or try to numb myself. Embracing feeling is necessary to move forward.

The best way I find deal with negative emotional feelings is to do things that promote positive emotional feelings.

I agree with you! It's important to acknowldege when we're sad, angry, ecc. Only that way we're able to cope and fight.

I struggle with this so much, especially in therapy....if I feel anything negative, I usually shut down

its not healthy I know, because I've spent my life ignoring them and now in therapy everything is surfacing... I just have to somehow allow myself to become ok with it all

I also shut down when ever anyone says, or acts negative to me. I am very good at avoiding, and I usually say, wright. phone, text, ect. to the person who has said or done something to me that has caused negative things to me. I tell them I am sorry for anything I may have said or done. I don't stand up for my self. I am always too afraid to say, or do anything back.
