Because my job is ending, most likely. And I have too many current medical bills. I don't know how I'll ever afford to be on my own. I'm too expensive for myself. I'm trying to save, which isn't going well. Just more bills keep coming up. I tried to basically put aside what would be my rent a little shy of it and I keep digging into it to pay things off. Maybe next month will be better is my mantra but it usually isn't. I'm starting to think I'm just a bad money manager. I had lots of practice growing up but still I'm missing the knack.
Than I think I could be living with my ex, but I know in time I would have been miserable. I wouldn't have had my nice family birthday. I miss when they liked him because I still do.

Can you renegotiate these extra bills so that you can prioritize rent to the top of the priority list?

To live on your own in a legitimate apartment (without room mates) you have to make 3 times your rent. So if your rent 1k a month, you have to make 3k a month. But people often rent a room in the house or in a condo or get roommates. You don’t make enough to have your own place. You can either look for ways to make more or look for other living options

Yeah well my daughter says she won't visit me as long as live at Grandma's. She doesn't like Grandma's moodiness basically. One minute she's nice the next she's angry, yelling and screaming. She's not diagnosed with anything but should be.
I really need a 2 bedroom and there are cheaper ones that are seemingly affordable but than money will be tighter. And I always seem tight now.

There are options to moving out including room mates and group situations.
As for saving your money. Make a budget and track every single expense you make. Seeing the extent of your misspending may make it easier to restrain yourself. Stick in envelopes the money for those things you must pay including rent. Put them out of sight. Put the remaning money in a jar. Once the jar is empty you are done for the month. It is possible to consolidate your bills and debt into a better payment plan. Many consolidation companies are free and run on a volunteer basis. They make calls to your creditors on your behalf and negotiate better terms. In some cases they can obtain for you a consolidated loan where you would actually pay a single bill at a substantial reduction. How , by the way, are you being held accountable for your misspending currently? Who is making up for the shortfall? How are you managing to miss paying for rent? I am guessing there is someone enabling you and that is part of your problem. Either they have got to stop enabling you or you need to remove yourself from the situation. |
