Hello. My emotions are really out of control right now. I am Bipolar and am trying to deal with my also Bipolar 30 year old son. He is disabled and cannot walk. His wife is now going to school full time and working. They have a one year old baby and my 10 granddaughter. Lately my son is making my 10 year old granddaughter take care of him and the baby and also go to school. She is mentally wore out and told me she feels "lost". She wants therapy even at 10 years old because she has had it before and know it works. However, my son refuses to let her be a child and has made her like a responsible adult doing everything while she is just a kid. She broke down to me last night and I feel she is going to have a nervous breakdown and feel I'm helpless. I live a long way away from them and can't help but just over the phone. It has really gotten me depressed worrying about her and resenting my son for doing this to her. Any suggestions? I would appreciate them if you can. Thank You.
Hugs from:

(((((KristenRenee))))) First, I'm sorry you are struggling. You are a good person to be concerned about your granddaughter, and for good reason. What your son is doing sounds like a form of child abuse or neglect. Would you be able to talk to his wife and tell her what is going on? Is there anybody else you can contact? Perhaps, as a last resort, the police. I think...as a grandmother who is also struggling emotionally, take care of yourself, and be there for your granddaughter (phone calls, etc) as much as you are able. I'm sorry this is happening.

Find time to manage and take care of yourself, lend a support where you can. I am sorry this happened.
