How do you spend the day when you don’t have family or friends to spend it with? What are some of your own traditions?

I like to go outside for walks as much as possible and watch comedies.

I was alone and did nothing and it was just depressing. This year, I was invited to spend it with my best pal and his family, but decided not to go, as I am just getting through a big psychotic episode, Didn't want to start freaking out in a room full of people who don't know me well.

This year, I decided to have a Thanksgiving for me. So, I am cooking cranberry sauce from scratch, baking yeast rolls, making a sweet potato dish and roasted vegetables with rosemary, and also doing a turkey tenderloin with a bunch of herbs. I made an apple tart last night that turned out pretty well, for me.

I will go for a bike ride in 30 minutes, all bundled up as it is 36F and very windy. I will watch some football later. Maybe go for a walk around my neighborhood if it doesn't rain or snow.

I am not depressed about being alone this year. I made plans for myself. It's fine.

Making plans for yourself helps. Like make some nice meal, find a good movie or tv show ahead of time, make your house clean, lit a candle, take a shower and dress nice but comfy. Eat good meal then make some tea and recline in arm chair or couch have dessert and drink tea and watch something fun on tv.

Watch a movie marathon. Take yourself out to the movies. Go shopping. Have a spa day.

When I was alone, I spent time on the internet and went out for walks. This year, I am spending mine with my family and going to watch movies too. I was in another country before and was lonely. Now, I'm with my family and am happy. I am grateful to my family and feel blessed for their existence

It's just my spouse & I, no extended family or friends. We watched the National Dog Show this afternoon.

Didn't do anything today. Not really a thing where I live. I could have made it a thing. But I didn't want to.

I had a pretty decent lunch. I ate a very large dessert at lunch. It was somewhat satisfying.

As for keeping my mind occupied, I've been catching up on the news. And listening to podcasts on philosophy.
