I’m having a hard time getting over a guy character from a game I am infatuated with him and extremely attracted to him for long time. I know I have to move on the thing is I feel he made me have unrealistic expectations in a real guy. Since he’s not real he’s perfect looking and I know real guys aren’t and I don’t want to feel this way. I’m afraid I’ll never feel like this for a real guy ever and it’s making my hocd worse to since where are I live cannot find my type. What do I do

My first thought was, do you still play the game? And if so, do you think disengaging from it and distancing yourself from the game for now is a good idea? Distancing yourself might make your obsession less extreme and intrusive. Just a thought.


Also can you explain what hocd is and how it impacts your life?

I don’t play it but I follow people on twitter who talk about it and I watch cutscenes on YouTube. I try to not look him up but whether I do or don’t my feelings for him are same . Hocd is ocd which makes you obsess your lesbian gay. I think these go together cause I’m extremely attracted to him but I know he’s not real and real guys aren’t perfect. I’m worried I’ll never be attracted to a real guy again since they don’t look like him and it fuels my hocd

Honestly, I know that feeling. It went away for me after I started to meet someone I am interested in. The fictional character was only a placeholder for someone real to come into my life. It is often something that keeps the place for the void that would be there because you’re missing something.

That makes sense but I feel like no real guy is gonna compare that’s the problem and I hate feeling that way and I’m afraid I’ll never feel attracted to real guy again since they don’t look like him and I don’t know what to do about it
