Lately it's been really hard to face society because I get anxiety attacks all the time and have been avoiding school and other social activities. I'm used to being lonely but sometimes I can't help it, I lose control. Work is piling up and I have no motivation to move on. No one understand what I'm feeling, so they just blame me telling I'm crying for no reason and that I'm just lazy. I don't know why I should continue this wretched life.

Have you been seeing a therapist or other provider? Do you have any friends or family that you still talk to that are aware of how much you've been struggling?
Depression and anxiety can snowball. The more we avoid things the harder it gets to get out of that cycle. Sometimes it can be helpful to take even very small steps to break the cycle and start moving forward again. Sometimes it can be as simple as sending a text message to someone to say hi, or even just doing something small around the house. For me, I find that those things will often help slow the spiral and help me find some sense of purpose and competence again. I'd also say that right now it's a stressful time with the virus and everything going on in the world. It's okay to feel overwhelmed and anxious. I think for a lot of people now is a difficult and somewhat traumatic time. There's a part of your reaction that is normal considering the crisis that we're in. There's a video that I've found helpful here: |

I don't know if what I am about to say will be helpful, but here goes...
You sound overwhelmed by expectations around you. Maybe this is other people or maybe some of it is within yourself. First of all I would advise you take those expectations down a notch. There are some days where just getting through the day is enough - that is actually an achievement when you are struggling. Kudos for that. Just posting here and asking for advice is a big achievement. What makes you feel good? Some people find connection with nature helps, the sounds of trees in the wind, bird song, water. This helps me de-stress. Doing what feels good and gives you peace can be very helpful. |

I'm sorry that people aren't listening to you when you are reaching out for help. This always upsets me. Not alot of people understand how hard it is to cope with anxiety and depression. They think we are making it up or are being overly dramatic. You are not alone here! There are many people who suffer like you do. But your story is unique as well and we would like to hear more. You are always welcome to express yourself in these forums and no one will judge you!
You are very important and your feelings matter! |

Hello Kriss <3 I know exactly what you're going though since I'm going through the same exact issues you're experiencing right now. My life is surrounded by endless anxiety and panic attacks.. including excessive loneliness and lack of a S.O. My social life is nearly nonexistent in the real world because being in public is quite difficult for me. Being abused inside of a psychiatric hospital a couple of years ago didn't make it any better... it made it worst. I rarely if at all.. receive any family support. I don't have many friends. Sadly I don't have a happy ending story that I can share with you because there isn't any. All that I can tell you is that you shouldn't give up on life.. Remember that there are people out there who have it far worst than you. I get into these phases from time to time where I just want to give up because I'm sick of tired of being alone, and struggling with mental illnesses that's preventing me from pursuing life the way I want. When I get into those phases often time to break the cycle I have to prescribe myself a strong dose of reality. |
