Hi everyone,

I am looking to find more meaningful things to do with my life these days and I am finding it quite difficult.

One thing I've noticed is that since the pandemic started, it's been harder to do the things I enjoy, such as going to cafes and writing, among other things.

Can anyone offer any suggestions on what to do to reclaim meaning in my life? I feel like I have lost the motivation or desire to do a lot of the things I used to enjoy and that is making me quite sad.

Thanks.

I'm glad you brought this up. Meaning and purpose is important to have in life. Maybe you could find a zoom writers group? Are you at all able to go out to cafes? In the spring, maybe find a local park and write. You're not alone! I feel purposeless too sometimes.

Pandemics make everything so difficult. Does anyone need your help? Like family? Helping others could be meaningful

Thanks for the replies - yes I do think there are some Zoom writing groups. I don't feel much motivation to do them, but I think I could try one.

Also, my family does need my help to some extent. Like I could help my grandparents or at least talk to them regularly.

So Sorry you're struggling! This pandemic is likely making things difficult for many people as well. i agree with the other wise and wonderful posters about trying to join writing groups and contacting your relatives. Take things one step at the time and Hopefully you will get back to the swing of things practicing. Sending many Safe, warm hugs to BOTH you, @WastingAsparagus, your Family, your Friends and ALL of your Loved Ones! Keep fighting and keep rocking NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS, OK?

So here it is. Doing things for others (family or not) is meaningful.

I've had the same experience of things not being what they used to be in these times. I've found doing anything new each day as helpful. I drive and get lost (relatively locally) in my car and slowly find my way home. (gps ready) I'll even do my wake-up routine backwards. Re-arrange my room. Anything new to do has been helpful to rejuvenate me.

I ask God how can be of service? He always finds something and it's never out of or ability or too taxing.

Thank you all. I truly appreciate your replies. I am going to volunteer somewhere where I can put my teaching skills to use!
