I called out from work today because i simply couldn’t handle it this morning. I was already in my scrubs, getting an iced tea from the Starbucks barista, and about to head back to my car when i just felt like collapsing. I couldn’t bring myself to drive to work. So i texted my boss, went home, and cleaned my condo. I drew some art and worked on the logo I’m designing for my friend’s band. Then my friend invited me over to his place. We hung out, watched something funny, laughed, had sex.. and then we hugged and I went home. Now I’m eating dinner and trying to figure my thoughts out. It wasn’t planned or anything, but i think it was what I needed.

@indigo1015 in the hospital I worked at the nurses called it a mental health day when they called in.

How is it going today?

@CANDC I’m okay. Pretty depressed right now. It is what it is, I guess.

@indigo1015 I am retired now but I put in my time at a frustrating job. I found my satisfaction and inspiration outside work. It kept me somewhat sane through a difficult time in my life.

What hobbies do you have?

@CANDC I enjoy swimming, reading, watching horror movies, listening to rock music, making jewelry, creating things, being with friends and family, solving puzzles… but you need to understand that, while all that is fine and dandy, I absolutely need to get out of pharmacy. I will not stay in this field a minute longer than I have to. I’ve applied and applied to other types of jobs, and I’m not getting responses.

@indigo1015 I hear you. It sounds like commercial pharmacies are high pressure. What about hospital pharmacies or working for pharma companies.

How can you use your medical medicine knowledge in a related career?

Have you tried employment agency or recruiting services? Some people only ever find jobs this way. Either direct hire or contractual.

Hi divine— yes I have. They either haven’t gotten back to me or the jobs they have don’t pay enough for me to pay my bills.
