As the title says. I need to feel safe enough to express my emotions- even the ‘bad’ ones, in fact maybe especially the bad ones. Not everywhere all the time but in a safe place.

I’ve been surprised by some people who have rushed to try to ‘make it better’ by reminding me of positives. There’s a time and a place for that but I want to choose it. There’s been some heavy things going on around me that I’m adjusting to. Is it so bad to be able to express my true feelings as I experience them.

This is mostly for self expression, I need to write it out. Thanks.

I often feel that too about my negative feelings. This place has always seemed a safe place to do that. I hope you will free to share anything and not just "happy thoughts."

Sounds like you have allot of self-reflection going on and in moments when you don't feel like thinking it through is enough, you might need to express it with words. Sometimes when we hear our thoughts, it helps give them better form to manage emotionally. But not everyone is a good sound board for those expressions, so you might first try it with just yourself and say those things that are bothering you out loud. Sometimes hearing yourself with no one else present is a good way to build a better understanding of you and what moves the needle inside yourself. Its kind of like a form of purging because it permits you to get that emotional weight off your shoulders by just expressing it out loud. You would be surprised how much better you can feel by just stating it. No one has to be there to hear it except you, because its really just for you.
Thanks for this!
