A while ago I stopped taking my medications, without telling anyone.
I didn't think they were working so I found it useless to take them.

I was on lexapro, seroquel, and lithium. I want to start taking them again for a couple reasons.

I don't want my bloodtests to come out wrong, and I want to give them another try.

Does anyone know a safe way to go about doing this.
I don't want to accidently overdose.

I was on 20mg lexapro
100mg seroquel
and 1200mg lithium

if anyone can help me it would be appreciated

Hello, Toriiixx! I believe the safest thing to do would be to consult your doctor before starting again. For how long did you take the medications before you stopped? While you were taking them, did you experience any side effects? Apart from feeling they were doing nothing for you, was there any other reason you stopped taking the meds?

You might consider hunting through the Drug Questions Forum for your specific meds as well.

You should let your doctor know you are off medications. If you feel they were not working, maybe they would like to try out different meds. The doses you were taking are safe enough. But lithium needs to be monitored.

...toriiixx, it's important that you at least have a phone session with your physician or her/his nurse. they need to know that you stopped them cold turkey--which was dangerous to begin with, and I'm glad you didn't suffer ill effects from doing it that way.
What blood tests?
When you said you hope you don't get hurt, I'm assuming you meant over dose as you mentioned in your first post?
Jme, but it's not a good idea to start all of them at once. You can titrate each one...but that should be monitored by your physician.

So your parents don't know you stopped taking them? Your first step might be telling them and enlisting their help. No parent is going to allow their child to do without needed medication...they obviously took you to see a pdoc or pcp and had the prescriptions filled for you.
Give them a chance...

As an RN, I would highly suggest placing a call to your doctor. They may be able to council you over the phone.

I would suggest not restarting your meds until you speak with an MD about it and DO NOT under ANY circumstance restart your lithium without getting your lithium level (blood) checked. Without knowing your lithium level, you will not know what the appropriate dose is that you will need to get to your therapeutic range and you could end up putting yourself into lithium toxicity.

In the future, I would suggest to always consult your MD or PDoc before stopping or starting your meds. Stopping any one of these meds abruptly could have caused serious problems for you and your are lucky that they didn't.

I'm sorry if your parents aren't able to get you into the doctor, but you need to take responsibility for your health as well, which means complying with your medication regimen.

Hope everything works out okay for you.
