Has anyone here ever been a volunteer for any studies for their depression? I have found 2 collages that offer studies on depression and would like to know if it would be a good idea to get involved. I have tried to contact both collages by way of e-mail without any responses yet. Just looking for some input. Thanks

Hi,

I don't know the answer to your question, but wanted to say hi because I lived in Alaska over 20 years and struggled with depression for much of that time. If you want to talk about any Alaska-related stuff, feel free to get in touch.

Pat
Thanks for this!

You generally have to visit the college campus to become a part of medical studies. Great for trying new medications, but half get placebo only. So, it might not be sogood if you need be on medication.
Thanks for this!

Hi...
Jmo, but please be sure exactly what type of studies are being done by both of them.
Are they recruiting volunteers? There will be certain criteria for you to meet before being accepted as part of the study.
Who is head of the study, and what are their credentials?

Email may not be the best way to contact them--why not try calling them?
Just give it honest consideration before you participate if you were to be accepted into the study...

Good luck,

Catherine
