Hi,
I'm new to this site. I have been on anti-depressants for 14 years. I recently weaned off of them with my doctor's guidance in order to try to get pregnant. After 3 months of severe withdrawal effects I am starting to experience the sypmtoms of depression again. There is one category of meds that is safe to take during preganancy. I'm not sure how long to wait to see if I can stick it out or if I should go back on. Does anyone have any experience with this?
Thanks.

Only you can decide that for yourself.

I am going to go back on my med after the first trimester because the risk to my baby is very low after that point. My baby will need a healthy mom, and I deserve to enjoy the pregnancy, birth, and having a new little one around.

You deserve to enjoy this special time in your life too. Treating the depression is important!

PS-I know a place to get great really cheap ovulation/pregnancy tests...less than one dollar a piece and they work great!

Chelle, I went through this last year. I think the best thing is to see your T, or get one if you don't have one. I went off my meds completely but I would not have made it through the pregnancy or life if I didn't have my T who took me through every step of the way. If you want to take meds, I suggest starting at the 2nd trimester as the first trimester has the most risks. SSRI's a good to use during pregnany. It's really how you feel on wheather you should take them or not. But don't do this on yours own. See your T, pcdoc, physican who ever was treating you before.

Thanks So much!
Can you send me some information on those ovulation tests?
that would be great. They are so expensive normally that would be a huge help! Thanks.
