I have a lack of energy and motivation. Is there anything that can be done about the energy part? My psychiatrist ordered blood tests to check my anemia and iron defeciency, but in the last few years they have been normal. He also ordered a liver panel. I get the results tomarrow and if they are normal, what do you all do for the lack of energy? I can't drink coffee because it makes my anxiety way worse. All i know is I can sleep 12 hours and still wake up and be tired all day. I try to eat all my veggies and fruits hoping that it'll help but so far it has'nt. I just hate being so tired all the time.

I feel the same way. The only thing that is guaranteed to work is to rely on your willpower. Go and do the things that you need to do regardless of how crappy you may feel. Just put one foot in front of the other. Don't give yourself any other option.

(((Thunderbear)))) I know that both stress and anxiety can be exhausting when they are acting up, because they rev up so many systems in the body. Do you get any excercise? Sometimes getting a bit of excercise every day can help up your energy levels, especially if you can stick with it a while. Nothing extreme, a walk for twenty minutes everyday, for example. Hope you feel better soon. I know it's been a tough ouple of days for you

Are you taking anything to help you sleep at night? I take sleeping pills for insomnia and even though I get a full night's sleep they tend to leave me feeling pretty groggy for the rest of the day. Certain cold medicines can do that to you too, if you're on that. You could also check with your doctor if you haven't already to see if maybe the tiredness is a side effect of any other medications you're taking for your depression. Other than that, when I'm feeling particularly drained what helps for me is to keep cool. Being too warm tends to make me really sleepy. I keep my heat on low, and if it's not too cold outside I open my window to let in some fresh air. Just getting some fresh oxygen to the brain can really help. ![]()

To share my experience there are several things that make me feel that way:
1. hypothyroidism 2. depression 3. chronic fatigue 4. fibromyalgia And when you have a combination of them like I have, you get lots of days of no energy and no motivation. I have read that some doctors will give a low dose of meds for hypothroid if a person displays many of the symptoms but their test results are normal. It apparently helps many people. I was sleeping up to 15 hours a day and in a wheel chair ![]()

![]() I'd rather have a visit, note or pretty picture than an "I'll say a prayer" or a "god bless you." Doesn't make me feel better, no meaning to me for sure. Can't stop you from praying and blessing me, and if that makes you feel better feel free. ![]() But keep it to yourself please, don't tell me. And let's all respect each other's feelings. With kindness, support and "sweet dreamings." ![]() |
