What do you do when your feeling as low as I am at the moment. I'm so upset over something I just found out, that I can't even talk about it online. I feel so depleted and low about myself, like I'm never going to get out of this vicious sickle. I'm really fed up of myself and my life!!

Hello, la333. May you forgive, and find the path to the life you seek. Good luck.

First thing: ask yourself, "Am I safe? Am I in danger of hurting myself or others?" If you're in such a state that your safety or that of others is in doubt, call emergency, call a crisis line, go to an emergency room - just get help. (online resources, PC Resources: Crises)
If harm is not in the picture, compose yourself (a whole topic in itself) - relax, take deep breaths from the diaphragm, rest, sleep if necessary. "Do the next thing." Start, as slowly as necessary, to participate in everyday activities and tasks. Distract yourself. "Focus out." OK, I've probably insulted your intelligence with all the above; nothing new there and all much easier to advise than perform. The important thing is that you remain safe. You matter regardless of what's going on in your life and/or mind. ![]()

You could try to sit down and write about it or start talking outloud by yourself in a private room to get it out of your head. The journaling is very helpful as you can come back later and learn a lot about what you have written. Sending gentle hugs. Take Care of yourself.

I definetely understand where you are coming from. I suffer from major depression and often I get so low that I am unable to pull myself out from it. When this is the case I try to do a few things. One being that I call and talk to someone even if I really really may not want to, so that they can give me a positive spin on the subject matter and so they can also bring me down to the rational level rather than the irrational level that I usually am on. Also when I am down I tend not to want to do ANYTHING AT ALL! So I do just that kinda, but I find something funny to watch and eventually you're going to find something on there to laugh at and it helps bring me up so it's not so bad. Talking to someone really does help, even if it's just writing it down. Hope this was helpful to you. Just remember you will come out of it.
