I have been confused about life since the age of 10.It just seems pointless to live in a world of question.Who made us,why, how?Everything is just...i dont even know. Both my parents where alcoholics when i was a kid,but it seems like i have never been affected by it.Religion hasnt helped either,it has only put the more sadness in my life.Is this normal for a 13 year old boy?I just want to enjoy life but i know it is going to end and its just to much. Can any one help me?

It might help you if you talk about your sadness with a relative, teacher, school counselor, religious person, or other adult that you trust and feel comfortable with.

I too was confused and angry as to why there never seemed to be an answer to explain any of the emotions I was inflicted with. However, there is a point to life that lays within your instinctual being. The answer is, "The will to survive, regardless of pain and suffering."

I mean no offense by this statement though it may seem like an oxymoron.
"I would rather have a mind opened by curiosity than closed by religion."
^ A wise individual told me this.

Sometimes turning to religion is not the answer. It is only the end if you believe it to be. You are still alive and breathing so even though the light at the end of the tunnel may seem very far away, you can definitely make it to the end to see for yourself how beautiful things will be.

Actually, the point to life is whatever you choose to make it; it is that choosing that transcends instinct. This is the same answer to the questions, "What is my purpose in life," and "What is the meaning of life," etc. It is each person's right and responsibility to define their own identity and determine their own life's point/purpose/meaning bit-by-bit by the philosophies they choose to embrace and manifest in their daily life through their thoughts, attitudes, words, and actions. As Viktor Frankl said,

"Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom."

Thanks for this!
