I guess I'm just writing to get support. I am a long time sufferer from anxiety and depression, and have been on medication for some time--lexapro, geodon, mirtazipine. I recently had to switch to zoloft for the lexapro due to loss of my job and not being able to afford lexapro. Anyway, for some reason I seem to be struggling for the last three days. I have been drinking at night to relax and relieve some of the anxiety. Probably not a good thing since alcohol is a depressant, but I need some relief. I have a call into my doctor.
Thank you.

Hi, Ellen! Clearly, this is an unusually difficult time for you. Losing one's job is traumatic for "normal" people, all the more so for those struggling with depression and anxiety.

Post as often as you like - let us know how you're doing. We're here to absorb what you have to say. Maybe we can help, maybe we can't, but you don't have to be "alone."

Sorry about what is going on. Calling your doctor seems like a good idea. Maybe the doctor can give you some medication samples.

Peace be with you, and good luck.
Thanks for this!

Just wanted to let you know that we hear you and you are not alone. Depression is not fun and it has its way to lie to us. And the lies can grab you at any given point and pull you under before you have had the time to even realize what is happening. I think calling your doctor is a good thing. He will be able to help you and possibly give you some ideas.

Losing your job is not easy, as I think it was Rohag that said even for someone who does not suffer from depression. When depression is present, it makes it even harder. I wish you the best there.

Know that we are here to walk through this with you whether by just listening, offering support, or just sitting quietly with you so you are not alone. I know it is difficult. Please keep posting and sharing your feelings. It is important to get them out.

We do hear you and understand. Sending you gentle hugs and loving thoughts.
