I know how you feel. I'm constantly looking at my face and body and thinking of how I can change it.

I hear you sweetie, but beauty is truly on the inside, I just wish more people would see that ... we punish ourselves believing such things as we're ugly, I guess it can be seen as a vain thing? Though in no way is it meant that way. I hate my looks and body too ... but that is how I've been conditioned to think by my mother, I hope you're feeling better soon, beauty is from inside ... we have to learn to love ourselves which is hard .. am I rambling again? Sorry sending hugs if that's ok .... Kerry /Ophelia xxxx

It's makes me feel sad when I hear people talk like this. I agree with ((Opheliasorrow)) that what maters most is what's on the inside. But I also agree with making the best you can from what you have - which means taking care of yourself with eating right and exercising. I also remind myself that there are people who are struggling with far worse outer challenges. Take a look at the thread in current events by ((Jerry Michele)) - it's about the woman who was attacked by her friends chimp and now she's severely disfigured - don't look at it if things like this upset you(Trigger warning). I also use the example of the war veteran who was burned by a bomb blast. He ended up working in the famous soap opera(forget the name). True he has no hair or ears and his skin is severely stretched but he has incredible charm and strength - as I watched, I forgot his disfigurement.

Try to work on accepting yoursef and then make yourself the best you can be - that's all we can do.

I agree Lynn ... if we eat healthy foods and excercise, drink lots of water and take care with our appearance we feel so much better. I've noticed when my hair is getting out of control that if I have it cut it makes all the difference We have to be comfortable within our minds to be cofortable without, I'm saying this and I have big issues myself with appearance, but I know how I SHOULD be thinking and its ME who has to change the thought process, noone else ... I feel like I look really sluggish today, as in the little beasties wthout shells that crawl around and leave streaks on the ground. I'm thinking about collecting a list of people to go out virtually walking with me. Any takers?
