I'm sorry I haven't been contributing here lately. My brain is just in a fog and it is hard to think of what to say. Plus I've been depressed and staying in bed alot. But please know that I care a great deal about all you guys and hope to be back soon.

I went to DBSA group for the fourth time and actually spoke! I was so SCARED. My t and I practiced what I would say and he said it would be the first step in trusting people. What I said was that it was really hard for me to talk and to trust because I'd been hurt before (I didn't say abused, but they seemed like they knew what I meant.)

It also came up that I had no irl friends.

The goup was very supportive and several people said--you have friends now, US!

I still feel vulnerable but my trust in people did go up a notch.

That is wonderful, Berries!

As for the depression & brain fog - best wishes for a few rays of light to break through soon.

To echo the others above you, GOOD FOR YOU!!!
It's very difficult to talk at a support group for the first time, and about being "hurt" at anytime. It's been years now since I first went to a support group for depression and bipolar, but the people I met there are some of my best friends, and the best thing is that I don't have to hide my feeling and pretend that I'm ok when I'm in the middle of a depression.

Wow, you were/are BRAVE!!!! That takes guts to up and start talking especially if you haven't known them before. And what a nice attitude they have! I'm so glad that you are still going to the group and that it seems to be working out for you. I hope that it can give you at least some of the IRL support you need. HUGGGS, and you can take a few extra and pass them around next time you guys get togther
Thanks for this!

That's great news Berries. Glad you mustered the courage to join in on the group - practice helps alot. I knew they would be accepting of you. I know that feeling of 'brain fog' - I feel like that too right now. Take cafre of yourself Berries and I'm proud of you.
