Anyone else dread their bday? I have one coming up soon and not looking forward to it. I wish it was over!
Thanks for this!

I dread birthdays (and I'm still so young! ) mostly for very, very selfish reasons.

((((FeelingSad))))

I hear you loud and clear. My birthday just passed and I dreaded it. It holds so much terror and unpleasant memories. I worked up to the day all week. It got harder and harder to cope. I did my best on my birthday to be happy and to hide any feelings I had. My friend did her best to help me and she did. I appreciated all she did and it was not until that night that I allowed myself to feel anything. And then it really hit me and I was so afraid.

My birthday was a good day spending it with the one person that has meant so much to me and who is my good friend. If not for her I would have spent it alone and felt really bad. For me it is about changing the day to mean something good and replacing the bad with positives.

I am sorry you are dreading your birthday. How about trying to create new memories nothing that has to do with why you feel so bad? Know we are here to walk with you through that day and any day you need us. Thank you for sharing.

pamper yourself day, to heck with everyone else.

it's hard when birthday's fall near certain bad memory dates.

I always dread my birthdays - mainly because I hate getting older. And I'm only 21! lol

my 25th birthday is in two months, and i can't wait until it's over. the last 'real' birthday was my 21st, only cuz a friend planned a surprise party at a local park! now, i just spend my bdays alone, no one calls, just a card from my grandma and aunt. i hate it - it's no longer 'special' to me...

Yes, I hate my birthday, too. I can't wait for the day to end!! I'm always happy when it's during the week - I don't have to suffer through it as much as when it hits a weekend!
I glad it seems to be a common thread...

I have gotten to hate mine because since we moved to Sweden, my MIL has spent every sumer all summer here. She has her b-day in July and always assumes that if I celebrate, it will be with her idea of a party and then I have to sit and pretend to enjoy HER favorite foods (or deliberately botched versions of mine) and pretend to like presents that she hadn't even given any thought to but expects me to be over enthused about. So it's been, no, thanks, I'm not celebrating this year, dear, you go ahead and have your birthday in July and we'll pay attention to you and hopefully that will fill your batteries until you leave. Sigh.
Silly lady.

I do a bit- I don't like the attention. I've never liked too much attention, I mean yeah, it'ss the day you're born, it's nice to maybe get a card or some kind words, but making a big deakl out of it is not my thing- though a surpirse birthday might be cool. lol. I don't know if this is what you mean or why you dread birthdays, but I have one coming up here in a couple weeks and I just wish I could hang with my bf more, instead of these plans my family made for me. I ike spending more time by myself than anything else. Well,, take care, and Happy Birthday! =)

I dread birthdays the worst
but ever holiday is terrible
I don't know how to be happy
I send beautiful happy things to my grandbabies and kids

I'm glad they live in other states, cuz I can't put up that happy thing

I always had a problem with them. Growing up FACE and her 1 of many Mates ate in the dinning room. We had to eat in the kitchen with NO talking.

But on those HOLIDAY we got to sit in the dinning room with them at a Card Table. Oh happy day.

All year life was tormenting..... Holiday - WOW WE were suppose to forget about our real lifes and be Happy.

Christmas present in hand - Frown on Face.

Sorry for blabbing

Yep! I hate my birthday's, even though I'm still young. For some reason or other, things always go wrong and I end up with having a horrible birthday. I've been trying to avoid my family for my last couple of birthdays. They are not happy with me because of that, but being with them for my birthday feels horrible. I'm not happy with my life and I don't really want to celebrate that I've spent another year in it.

Well I hate birthdays because usually people celebrate with friends. But guess what? Yup don't have any. No one ever remembers it, and I hate being one of those girls who practically give out flyers announcing their birthday. Plus its another year of depression and that's, well depressing.

I do. Sunday was mine. I didn't do anything at all. I wanted to sleep all through the day, but couldn't. I stayed home all day, doing nothing. I became very depressed. I really hate my ****ing birthday very, very much.
