I start back in therapy next month and my anxiety is up because of that.. The problem I am having is my first appointment is right smack in the middle of bike week.. There will be over 100,000 bikers in town and I am noise sensitive.. The bikes make all kinds of noise and they tend to shoot right past you blasting away..I already have trouble driving because I have lived in Isolation for seventeen years.. Very rarely leaving the house.. I'm afraid I will get into an accident..Paranoia is one of my problems.. Anyhow I don't know if I should cancel that appointment.. I have been on leave from therapy for four months.. If I cancel she may not see me again..Arrgghh I feel as if I am loosing it..

I am sorry you are feeling so much stress. I do understand the bikes for where I live when they come through going to bike week here, they can really startle me and they are so loud it hurts my ears. As far as going to therapy, I hope you will try to make it. Since it has been so long, I would hate for you to miss this. And I would hate for her to cancel out. Is there anyway you could call your t and talk with them about your fears and see if they have any suggestions for you? It would be worth a try. I hope things work out for you. Know we are listening and that we care. Thank you for posting. Sending gentle hugs.

I don't think you should cancel your appointment. But can you possibly reschedule to a time when the roads are quieter? Failing that do you have anyone that can drive you or just sit in the car with you to keep you company?

Have you thought about finding an on-line therapist? Some sites offer fully qualified therapists and you can check their credentials on-line. Usually, there is a range of fees available as well.

Thanks all!! I have decided to stick to all back roads to go.. It will take longer but I think I will be safer that way.. I don't want to get in an accident..The therapy part I am o.k. with that now.. I have been using positive self talk to get myself psyched up into going.. If I'm not comfortable I can always cut it short and leave..Thanks again for the replies..
