Just feeling blah, and depressed. I mean I could be worse, I'm sure, but I could be a heck of a lot better also. I've tried looking for support groups in my area for depression but haven't been able to find one. I'll try asking my pdoc the next time I go in for a med check. Other than that, I did end up finding a group called Survivors of Suicide. I had never heard what it was so I looked it up and it is for people who have lost loved ones to suicide. I might try to check it out sometime. It looks like they only meet once a month, but I think it might be something that would benefit me a little. Guess I'm just hanging in there for now.

Are you okay ((((graciemi))))?
I'm going to pass on the best advice I got this week: call your doc or see therapist.
Hang in there and post how you're doing so I know.

They have support groups all over the country, not sure if you have checked for one in your area or not
Thanks for this!

Thanks guys, yeah, I might call my school counseling center. I guess I'm just sick of being depressed and want to get better, but it seems like it doesn't work like that. I wasn't talking about the Survivors of Suicide group because of me necessarily, but I have lost family members to suicide in the past few years so that was why i mentioned it after coming across it on the web.

((((gracieme))))

Just wanted you to know that we are here for you whenever you need to talk or just want someone to sit with you. I know that blah, depressed feeling and it can creep up on you before you really know it has come. But talking to your Pdoc would be ideal. Let him know how you are truly feeling. Maybe he will have some ideas on groups that you have not found.

There also are groups here on PC that meet at different times if you are ever looking for one in the evenings or day. There are some really great groups that have many wonderful people in them that are where you are, or have been where you are. We are all on this road to healing and we are walking this together. For two are better than one.

Know you are never alone. Someone is always around and if not you can PM me or anyone and we will get back to you as soon as we are here. Please keep reaching and talking about it. The more you talk the less depression has a chance to suck you in alone.

Thank you for posting and I hope you find a group that will help you. Know we are here and we care. Sending gentle hugs and loving thoughts. Always.

dps

Hi,

You can also check out NAMI http://www.nami.org/Template.cfm?section=Find_Support
for support groups. IF DBS doesn't provide what you are looking for. Good luck on finding support.

I hope you continue to feel better.

Have ever thought about religion. When I accepted God my life changed for the better. I love myself more now then I ever have. I've been suffering with depression for 15 yrs. And accepting God was the greatest decision I ever made. Please think about this. I'm not pushing you or anything i'm just here to help in anyway I can.
