I'm getting worse and worse and I don't think my T knows what to do with me. I told her the truth. I don't want to get up out of bed, brush teeth, shower, do hair, cook, clean, go to store, appts, nothing! I'm on cymbalta alomost 4 weeks 30 mg and 5 mg abilify. I feel like crap. I'm looking online for studies now for major depression. Found something about electrodes put on your head and stimulating your brain. I am sick of my life. I have ruined it. I feel stuck in this situation. I have nobody no family or friends. I feel like I'm bringing my bf down with me. I just need to vent. I don't know what else to do.

I don't think you should be thinking about electrodes on the brain right yet. You have all the classic symptoms of major depression.
Sometimes it takes a long time to find a medication that works for you. How long have you been depressed , a couple months , a couple years ? Try going for a walk or something you might enjoy. You have to try to keep your mind off of negative thoughts . You feel stuck in the situation , I know exactly how that feels. It will get better , it always does. How long it stays that way depends on the individual.
You can get out of the hole with a little work , small steps.
Take care and I hope you find something that makes you feel better.

Thanks for replying.

I know, I am just that desperate. Its hard to find things to make me feel better. Sometimes going to the City to just walk around, sit in the park or find things to do. It's costly though and sometimes my legs bother me and theres a lot of walking to do. I like to go to restaurants, again costly. All other things I like to do are costly or I don't have energy, I have medical issues too. Hoping cymbalta will help eventually. My T. gave me a brochure about EMDR its a natural way to stimulate brain, I will look into that. I can't believe how down I am. Anyway thanks so much for replying that means alot to me. I will try to hang in there.

Ah. That tends to complicate things. Once you start juggling treatments for different illnesses, you run the risk of the treatments exacerbating the "other" problem(s).

Anjelmarie, I may be projecting my own experience on you, but dealing with multiple issues at once may be part of the reason you find yourself stuck in a hole. I'm sorry, and I hope your doctors can appreciate the challenge.

anjelmarie, on many occasions, I straight out have asked therapist if he/she can help me. If not, please refer me to someone that can. I was a difficult challenge. Several therapists were more than willing to get rid of me.

Nonetheless, the point is if you not getting the help you need, ask to be referred somewhere else.

Good luck.
