Hi folks,

I would like to ask a question.

On waking up in the morning, what is the first thought you have, or the first kind of thought you have?

Cheers. M

"Where's my coffee???" LOL Yeah, it is now. It used to be "God, I hope it's the middle of the night so I can go back to sleep!" I didn't want to face the day.

This morning? 'Mmmghrdff... Scorpions'. (The house & neighborhood we live in are unfortunately infested w/bark scorpions & my husband killed two in the kitchen last night - no offense to arachnid lovers, but he's already found out that not only are they extremely toxic but he's extremely allergic).

This week we are in WV staying at my in-laws house. So my first thoughts in the morning are:

- Don't trip over the grey cat.
- Don't kick the grey cat.

and/or

- Grey Cat, quit licking my toes!

Normally...I think about what I have to do that day. Or the fact that it is too early to be up. lol

This is hard to say, yet I need to express it..when I wake up I am terrified that my wonderfully haunting dreams have to come to an end..I start to wake up at 10am then linger in my sweet dreams, in a state half between being awake and in my sweet dreams, for three more hours, letting myslef dream a total of 12 hours of sleep. When I do try and try to bring my dreams to an end, I wake up and immediately listen to hear the kids' voices, I used to live with kids. Then I remember I live alone and I cry, every morning starts with tears and loneliness. I hate my house. Hate it real bad.

I dreamed early this morning about spiders (which are great phobia of mine) invading my bed; then, woke up feeling anxious.

Junerain,

I really felt your post, and I'm so sorry that you have this to deal with. I always think that even if the lights are not on at home, they are always on here at PC.

Peaceful thoughts to you, Myzen.

Hi folks,

Well, when I wake up, it's always to the 'stinking thinking' about the distant past. It is almost as if the thoughts have been hanging around my bed waiting for me to wake up!

Then I kick them out, and log on to Psych Central, to see what's going on. After that, things look better.

Cheers, M.

I hate waking up. Either I haven't had enough sleep and am quite fatigued, or I did sleep more than 4 hours and my pain med has worn off and the best I can do is reach for it and my water before I wake fully up. But then, it takes a while to wake anyway... also when I have to get up after being on my back for more than an hour or so, the fragmented gel in my eyes has risen to the "top" and my vision is quite blurry usually, until I go vertical and it moves (at it's own pace, of course... ever tried to turn an egg in a cup of water by shaking the cup???) ha.

And then? The psychological aspect, "Why did I have to wake up?" I wonder if being awake is better than asleep, as the nightmares at least, aren't real....

Butterfly,

You're like a teenage girl with your new car!

It's great

Hey, don't forget to think about the accessories, to give a personal touch. My daughter has her first car, and she has all kinds of stuff in there. I just like to see her happy.

Cheers, M. Waking Up
