This morning as normal had a hard time getting up but was happy because its my boyfriends day off.

We had plans to kayak, and go to the gym. He also needs to renew his licence which expired.

We go to my car and find that someone hit it while it was parked overnight. Hit it badly. Waiting for the police to come to make the report took a bit over 4 hours. My boyfriend ran and grabbed us pizza as we waited by the car. Because of this, we didn't get to go kayaking, the DMV closed (so I'll have to wak up at 4 am tomorrow ???? x.x x.x to drive my boy to work), and no gym (my depression medication).

plus I found out that it goes on my record as a "not at fault accident" even though I wasn't in the car!!!!
And apparently a deductible might be more than the fix, meaning I'll still have to pay $500.

The guy (or girl) left a BLANK piece of paper on my car.
I feel like crying

First my bike (it broke down just before this) now my car.

I feel like, what's the point of getting up in the morning?

Does anyone know anything about cars/deductibles / gone through this?
I have about -1 faith in humanity right now

(((Turquoisesea)))

A BLANK piece of paper?? What is wrong with people???

I'm SO sorry to hear what happened.
Such a rotten feeling. I had this happen to me too, a truck hit my car and drove off.

I would say the best thing is to talk to your insurance people as they will have the best advice.

Your bf sounds like a good guy... I hope you can still get to the gym... Hang in Turquoisesea. Sending warm thoughts your way. I hope things start to turn out better.
Thanks for this!

Oh, my. That's too bad. A blank piece of paper-how ridiculous is that!? Too bad there was no camera around that could have caught it & then you could see the car & maybe (hopefully) the license plate. Do you have any neighbors that might have seen it?

I'm so stupid and useless.

Cant figure out what to do with my day. I'm the most boring person on earth. I hate myself, I hate my life, and I don't know what to do today. It's 8 am and I'm bored stiff.

Tsk tsk tsk. Banish the negative chatter. Go to a hospice and walk the halls saying hello to people. Call the Salvation Army and see if they need someone to sort clothes for an hour or two. Go for a walk and see how many people you can get to smile. Something like that.

Good luck.

Thanks TheByzantine (is it ok if I generally call you Byz? don't want to offend you but I keep doing it in my head)

I'll look up where hospice and Salvation Army are. I got coffee, was going to sit outside and read but sad in a puddle. So I'm here and coping instead, just hate how my days have to go into "be safe" mode ---> boring ---> in some ways increases the cycle

Nothing wrong with "safe" mode! Maybe work on a list of things to do when you need to do this? I go to the movies for escape. You go to the gym? Why not get ready and go there, even if you don't plan on working out? Boredom is not a good thing. When I can't get physically to the movies, because of physical pain or fatigue, then I do mind games, word games --or if the mind can't focus -- watch comedies on tv or youtube. The key thing is to "allow" yourself to feel what you feel, or not be able to do what you want to ... things will change, you won't stay this way, and you'll move on soon enough.

PS That IS life ... things happen, we deal with it (or not, our choice) and move on ... we create things, other things happen, we experience them, and move on ...

Ahhh, sorry to hear about your car! I don't drive or live in the US so I can't give you any advice about insurance or whatnot, but I do hope you can get it all sorted without too much stress! Can't be nice, I know.

Lovely to hear you got to the gym in the end, I hope that and the pizza at least made the day sorrrt of ok, even with the upset with the car.

And about your latest post, you don't seem to me to be boring at all! I know how you feel because I think I am boring ... but I mean, you had plans to go kayaking! That's definitely not boring neither is someone who enjoys spending time with her boyfriend like you do... sounds like you do know how to have a good time it's just you had a set back with the car and are struggling with the negative chatter thebyzantine mentions (argh I have negative chatter too, it's a pain isn't it? I try to shut it up when I recognise I'm doing it lately but sometimes I just let myself, which is bad really).

Hope things are going ok x

TS-I'm asking one more time. Is it possible a neighbor saw what happened?

Hey Turquoise, sorry to hear about the car but happy to hear that you made it to the gym

Unfortunately no, it was parked in a parking garage. they have security cameras but apparently in order for that to work they'd need to see the person inside the car. The license is not enough, unless the person were to confess. And turns out the camera wasn't covering the spot when it happened anyways :/ Apparently there are a LOT of blind spots even right in front of a camera.

Thanks for asking though , and I'm very sorry for not asking earlier (so sorry)=D
