Seems as if my depression is coming back. I have been in excruciating pain for almost 3 weeks now. I have a bunch of things wrong with my spine (whole story in the chronic pain forum) and no doc wants to help. I fought and fought for almost a year to see a neuro doc. Seen him to day, he kept going on and on about how big I was (I'm 230) and not going on about how bad it was for me (he actually at one time said "jeez that huge") he did'nt want to touch me and the one time he did he kept wiping his hands on his pants like he touched something gross. Then he took my x-ray reports and marked all kinds of stuff out with a sharpie. And told me I had whiplash (again it's in the chronic pain section on what my report says) He asked me if I had gained weight on my Celexa, I told him no before my wreck I weighed 145 pounds and he told me at 145 I would still have been 50 pounds overweight. WTH? I'm 5 foot 5 inches. 90 pounds is'nt my ideal weight. 135 is. He just made me feel less than. Like cause I am big I am disgusting. No one can help my physical pain well they can but they won't. Ughh I'm so over this......I'm so pissed off and sad

((((((((((Thunderbear)))))))))) My word! How are you supposed to lose that weight with the neck and back pain???? Plus the fact that the medicines make one gain? Dear, he sounds like a total loser as a human being. at 5'5" and 90lbs you would be poster child for an eating disorder. That type of sniping is just disgustin. I am so sorry you had to go through this, and that you are hurting so much right now. HUggggssss, gentle and warm.

Sorry you are going through all theis crap with docs Thunderbear.
Sending you hugs, and ![]() That's the part about the neuro guy that really sucks. Hey, even thin and normal weight people have pain and spine problems. WTH? If they think your problem is your weight, have they done something for you about that...a physical therapist to teach you how to move / exercise while in pain, or a diet specialist? I know it is so hard to be motivated to move when you already hurt. But, I have been helped by gentle stretching, taught by a physical therapist, then being more able to walk. Right now my hands hurt...and I have been icing and taking pain meds. But I hate having to limit my activities due to pain. Hope you are having a better day today and that you will be able to find some relief from your pain. ![]() |

Most of these docotrs aren't specialists in weight loss, and a lot of them, especially men, don't get that for us women, it is often much harder to lose weight. They don't really want to admit to themselves that they don't know what to do.
If you can, get in tough with a nutritionist / wieghtloss doctor, one who has some experience with clients with physical problems. Try to stick with his or her program. Too many people go on old, outdated info on nutition (I still hear that potatoes are nothing but starch, which was thrown out about thiry years ago!) and excersize. Good luck, dear. I hear the same thing from p.docs here in Sweden, until recently. HUGGSSS |

Wow. Apparently you saw an idiot instead of a doctor. I'm so sorry.
![]() 145 at 5'5" is not overweight. I can't believe he would say that. I hope you get some help from a doctor with an actual functioning brain soon. ![]()
