hi Lynn,
here are the legal terms (as they apply to patient treatment by healthcare professionals) i promised. these are definitions as they apply to care received by clients/patients in a healthcare setting by medical practitioners (doctors, nurses, etc.): Accountability: To be accountable means that all health care workers are held legally responsible for their actions while at work. This includes what they do and what they don't do--but should have. Assault: It is considered assault if someone threatens another person with physical harm. Whether the victim is actually harmed or is just threatened with harm--it's still assault. Battery: To commit a battery means to touch another person in a harmful or offensive way. Invasion of Privacy: There are several different ways a person's privacy can be invaded. For example, breaking confidentiality about a patient is an invasion of privacy. Liability: In legal terms, liability is the same as accountability. Health care workers are held liable for everything they do--or fail to do--while working with their patients. Libel: To commit libel means to injure another person's reputation by WRITING something negative about that person. To be considered libel, the statement must be serious and it must be untrue. Malpractice & Misconduct: Health care professionals, like doctors and nurses, can be charged with malpractice if their actions result in harm to their patients. Negligence: All health care workers can be considered negligent if they fail to use reasonable care during their work with patients. (Care is considered reasonable if it's what the average health care worker would do in the same situation.) Slander: To commit slander means to injure another person's reputation by SAYING something negative about that person. Just like libel, the statement must be serious and must be untrue. take care my friend, i pray you won't have to suffer any longer the abuse inflicted by your family and through their illegal efforts, your doctors too, so you will finally receive the medical care that you need and that is your right. ((((((((Lynn)))))))))Just got back on this boad after being off for a bit. No. Being a medical pofessional does not ensure a caring view towards the rest of mankind. Sadly. And branding chronic pain patients as drug abusers is the oldest saw in the toolbox. I'm sorry for your pain my friend. and I realize that even very strong, intelligent people can be trapped into bad situations. But shame on them, dear, not on you. Never on you! HUGGGGGGGSSSSSSSS!

![]() ![]() The thing is, the only medications I can take are antihistamines, corticosteroids, Tylenol, and aspirin!!! I'm allergic to everything else and have been for decades, all of which is well documented in my medical records - how could I possibly be addicted to anything??? The doctors here have taken numerous blood and other specimens during the past 9 years and nothing has ever shown up on the labs - you would think that this would give them a clue that my family members have been giving them false information!! Besides, how could I possibly afford to buy illegal drugs on my disability income? I've been saving up for months just so I can pick up my Epipen and inhaler!! ![]() My immune-system problems started after I had infectious mononucleosis when I was 19 y/o - shared a soft-drink with a co-worker. After that, I started having allergic reactions to everything - pain meds, antibiotics, anesthetics, sutures, bandage adhesives, dyes, inks, blahblahblah - you name it - and these reactions have escalated in frequency and intensity over the decades. All these doctors here had to do was get my medical records from up north!!

Ah, too much incentive and too much work. I recognize the syndrom from miles away. We have a social worker here suffering from the same thing. Causing us here in my work place a bit of headache. Poor Lynn. I am very tempted to pay your brother a visit. I am so afraid my Yankee charm would not have the desired effect
![]() Indeed. It is a wicked world. By going off my meds, I would probably also come across as a drug addict. ![]() |
