Hi Everyone,
I am new here. I have suffered with depression for years and tried lots of stuff to cope with it. I am looking for a support system. I just pulled out of low and am feeling ok most of the time.
I know my job is something that really is contributing to my depression, but its not something I can just quit and leave.

I feel my depression coming again, I am sleeping tons...or I can't sleep at all... like tonight... I don't want to do anything. I really don't want to go back. I hate it when I am so sad.

Welcome to PC, Pinkestpink!

It is not easy and hear your frustration. I don't know if you have a provider: a therapist (T), counselor, or psychiatrist (pdoc), but this would be a good time to talk to them let them know what is going on. They can help or consider contacting one to help you during this time.

I too was in a job that did not help my depression and other symptoms. It became a vicious cycle but financially/insurance-wise I could not leave. I worked on trying to get better with providers where I was and then started to look for another job (while keeping the current one). I was much happier once I went to the other place and it also made the transistion easier b/c I was in a better mental position. But just quitting would not have worked for me. This may be the case for you too.

Work on helping yourself now and don't worry about the job. You is what is most important, ask for help and go from there. Things will fall into place. Hang in there in the meantime.

Thanks Fresia,
I am hoping a transition or move will be happening when the school year is over. I know I probably need to do it, it just scares me because leaving my field is a little daunting... I don't know if i have any other skills... Thank you for you support!

Welcome pinkestpink, I'm also relatively new here (only recently started posting). I hope that the light will shine at the end of the tunnel and that it won't be just another freight train coming your way. I can understand how it must be daunting to leave your field, I'm sorta in the same situation but completely opposite actually (so it's not really the same) - I don't want to do what I studied for, and I don't think I have any other skills. But anyhow, send a shout if things get tough, if you want to ***** and moan (can you say that on here?), vent, etc.

Hope you'll have a fantastic day tomorrow
