Hi,

We (mainly from a bipolar and depression background) have just started a new social group, where we can offer support to each other - Someone to Walk Next To You. Right now it is private group, as I thought it inappropriate for people to stumble across and possibly be triggered by others feeling down. We are looking for people that can really do with some kind of support, but at the same time feel they won't be triggered by negative and depressive talk. Sometimes you'll be the one asking for help, and at other times, you'll be the shoulder to cry one. I would like this community to become strong and supportive.

I felt it could be a place where people can chat to others for when they are really feeling low, maybe even battling with sui thoughts. Most of us have been there at some stage, and know they just need someone to offer the support and walk with them for a few hours, until one is either tired enough to go to sleep, or feel somewhat better. Or to tide over the hours in the middle of the night, until the morning, when a T can be phoned.
Sometimes there is no friend to contact IRL.

Emergencies should definitely be handled by the ER, but for some of us, we're just not quite at that stage. We just need a friend.

Please PM me if you'd like to be added to the list.

Thanks for your support. It does look like there is a lot of interest; only by sticking together we can make it through this.

I hope you guys are doing ok today?
