I do fit the criteria for some of the signs of depression like helplessness hopelessness loss of sleep sighs I dnt know about anything anymore................. and she wants to put me on pills for awhile to see how I will function and such

You put your mood as sad, but you say you don't feel depressed...

o.O interesting contradiction.

Pills are an easy answer for the short-term, but it's also beneficial to focus on what the issues really are - like the not sleeping, feels of helplessness and hopelessness. There are many reasons I'm sure for why you are feeling the way you are, you probably just haven't found a way to really express them.

I suggest getting on meds if you feel it's right for you. Sometimes taking them can make you see yourself a little more clearly, and help you understand what's going on with your head. If you don't want to take medication, then try therapy. It could help you...

Having helplessness and hoplessness definitely goes with depression. Maybe you are worried about the label of depression? I agree that a therapist along with meds is the best way to go. I need to do that myself...I've been on meds but don't have a therapist yet.

You might as well try the pills. If it helps, you will have a chance to live a better life.

has anyone tried EMDR therapy I find it amazing and recommend it if you can find a therapist you are comfortable with and can trust.
