Hi everybody,
I'm new here. I'm not sure where to start in terms of introducing myself. I live in Ontario, Canada. I'm a 20-year old college student, and I've recently been diagnosed with Dysthymic Disorder. I'm doing well though. I'm taking meds and seeing a counselor. I know it'll get better.

One thing that I find really helps at any point is music. Studies actually show that music helps mood. I agree with that totally. I like all types of music; rock, pop, celtic...just not that heavy metal and rap stuff. LOL.

I also like reading, riding my bike, dancing, surfing the web...the usual stuff. I like watching movies...I have so many favorites!

Hi, Dyscat! Hello, everyone Glad to have you aboard. You'll find a lot of people here that are going through the same things as you; I for one. Even if I unashamedly include myself, we're a great bunch of people here. Hello, everyone

Welcome, Dyscat! I'm pretty new around here, too. You couldn't have come to a better group than this one. This group is full of warm, caring, concerned and helpful people who really want to help each other.

It looks like you are very good at keeping yourself busy! It's wonderful that you have so many interests. I'm glad that you're doing well and have such a positive outlook about not letting your Dysthmic Disorder
get the best of you.

Thanks, guys. It certaintly seems like a great forum for people who are in the same boat we are. I try my best not to let my troubles get the best of me. I find it best to just take it one day at a time, and go at a steady pace.

Hi Mary Alice,

I noticed in your profile you said you enjoy Dean Koontz. I just finished one of his books, "From the Corner of His Eye". I thought it was ok. It was kind of long and drawn out.
