I am feeling down today. I was too depressed to go to classes. I don't feel like leaving the house. I really need groceries though. I haven't gotten out of my PJ's.
Worried about my appointment with social security disability. Worried about my fiance staying clean and sober. Worried about my daughter being happy. Just not feeling to good. ![]()

I'm sorry you're going through a rough time. Hopefully you will be able to get out of the house sometime today, as it really does help. Even if it's just for a few minutes. Sending you many hugs, and I hope you're feeling better soon!

Hi ~ It sure sounds like you have an awful lot of stuff on your mind! You are more anxious than you are depressed, I think. Bless your heart, you're thinking more about others than you are about yourself!
First, try not to worry about disability. It's just not going to do one bit of good. What does worrying about it accomplish??? Absolutely NOTHING. It doesn't assure that you'll get it. It doesn't make the decision come sooner. It just does NOTHING. ![]() ![]() How old is your daughter? Is she old enough to keep herself occupied? If she is, then let her play with her things. If she's older, like a teenager ~ and she knows what's going on with you, try to reassure her that you WILL get disability sooner or later. You will have more money coming in eventually and she shouldn't worry about finances. Kids shouldn't have to worry about their stability - their home. Make sure she feels safe. If your fiance' might be close to a relapse, see about him going to AA -- they don't care if you're an alcoholic or addict. At least MOST meetings don't. He may not LIKE meetings -- but if we're talking about his sobriety here, he NEEDS something -- and AA has a better track record than anything else - so I would go if I were him. In fact, AA saved my life. Later this year, I'll have 18 yrs clean/sober, God willing. Today wasn't a great day to get outside -- we had a blizzard where I am, and it's pretty lousy out there right now! So I stayed home too -- I should have gone to the store, but I didn't go either. ![]() |
