Does this emotion feel good or is it uncomfortable?
I have always gotten choked up during movies, and in fact one of the biggest and discomforting symptoms of my depression has been that I lost that ability. My depression manifested itself in periods of sadness and almost crying when I was alone, but also feelings of numbness during things I used to enjoy... both happy things and "tearjerkers". That's how the depression largely ruined the experience of Episode II for me on its premiere. I was a little better for Episode III. But in general, I would say although depression effects everyone differently, it is a good bet that the depression is effecting the way you feel about watching movies. It may be the depression itself triggering something, or it could be the meds making you more emotional, or the meds starting to work to remove the numbness. It is definitely worth talking to your T and PDoc about. After more than half a year suffering from my first, deep bout of depression, after my pdoc finally put me on Wellbutrin which was the first med that seemed to be effective in helping me feel more normal, I remember watching on TV The Five People You Meet in Heaven and at the end just bawling madly for like the last 20 minutes. It felt really good to have that emotion back. Really, really good. After that, I think I started getting pretty overemotional, getting choked up at things like stupid TV commercials and such. While I might not want to go through life that sensitive, at the time it felt good because I had been deprived of it for so long. Just to be clear, I'm not saying that you should "feel good" about these feelings. I am saying it is good for you to notice them, and talk to them to your T, and trust your instincts as to whether this is something good or something bad. But also that I think it is very possibly an effect of depression, your state of depression changing in one direction or the other.

I agree. Depression, even though not "acting out" actively all the time, still affects us.. and I have to be very careful about what movies I watch... even when I think I'm going to see one I might just enjoy, it only takes one scene that can set me back , or bring me back to "reality"... that reality being things are not so great in my life "right now."
