I just have to post that I'm getting annoyed as all get out today. It's windy, so the doors are rattling, and it keeps sounding like someone is knocking. I have to keep stopping work and getting up to check, and there's no one there.

Highly hijackable thread. Have fun with it everybody.

OK, post away. What's going on in your day-to-day lives today that you just have to blurt out?

clouds **** me off. always have. the only clouds (as not in puffy) i've ever liked were the ones in New Mexico that i knew contained a snow storm. now that was fun.....i could see all the way down the Rio Grande Gorge and know a storm was coming hours before it got there. you see, the gorge had it's own eco-weather system going that was different on the top of the mesas.....the sun is shining today and i'm glad because if it were cloudy, i'd be under the bed.

I can relate to that. I live in an area where there are a lot of dead trees so every time the wind blows or I hear a noise outside, I have to jump up and get away FAST in case a limb is about to fall in on the building.

The weather here in NW arkansas is crappy. The sun hasn't shined since Sunday and we got some really bad storms Tuesday night....I was gonna come into chat then saw the weather report and decided to head home before a house fell on me.Yesterday it was rainy and cold but like a dummy I left my windows open so now have a cold or something. But I'll quit whining now.

I went out and bought $150 of pajamas at TJ Max, and I am unemployed. We are talking $20 max a pair, so this is a ridiculous haul. I love buying cotton knit pjs to comfort myself, bec. they are an affordable cheap fix when I am working. However, I already have about a dozen pairs. Okay, yeah, some of 'em should be in the garbage, and I will bring some of these back after I decide which ones I really, really want. I also wasted a couple of hours trying them all on.

oooooh, I love cozy jammies. I bought some micropolar fleece ones at Wal-Mart this winter. Nothing fancy, made me look as wide as I am tall, but they were sooooo soft and comfy to snuggle into at night.

Well.

Thanks for giving me a space to vent. This summer, I paid about $6000 to help my mother-in-law move from Tennesee to Oregon, near us. Her arthritis makes it difficult to get around by herself, and she wanted to be near her future grandkids. Good reasons. I took a week off and helped her pack, cleaned her house, powerwashed her siding, mowed her 2 acres of lawn, RAKED IT UP, weeded her front sidewalk, moved a big pile of dirt, cleaned out her horse and goat stalls, stayed up late each night to help her study, gave her money for moving, am giving her my refund from my taxes equal to the value of stuff she donated to charity (since she had no income last year), took more time off to help her move into her new place, bought her a lot of stuff to welcome her here (TV, DVD player, plants, etc), spent lots of time with her (at least one day every two weeks; keep in mind it's not MY mother), and constantly scouted for job postings for her. She was a scientist up until two years ago, when she decided to go back to school and get her master's in Education to become a high school biology teacher. She spent more than $15k on moving costs, since she is a pack rat. This was in October.

Now, she announces that she is "probably not going to be able to find a job" in Oregon so she is moving to Florida at the end of the month. WHAT?????????

No discussion? No consideration of our ideas? There are 89 open science teacher jobs in the Oregon area right now. There is exactly 1 biology teacher position posted in Florida on the state's website. She hasn't even applied to any jobs here, nor did she go to the multi-state job fair last week. She gets pissed if either of us try to suggest taking things one step at a time. She doesn't seem to realize that maybe we might be a little hurt by this.

I could understand it if she had tried for a year and got turned down from everything she had applied to. But she hasn't applied anywhere. She's "running out of money" yet she still has money to move across the country again. We feel she is acting out of panic and is not making rational decisions (nor is it her MO to do so, unfortunately), yet her mind is made up and she's outta here.

I'm doing my best to stay out of it, but the fact is it was MY money we gave her and mostly MY time to help her move. My husband is furious with her, especially because in the next breath after telling him it's none of his business what she decides to do with her life, she turns around and asks him to take 2 weeks off to help her move across the country (she has a very old horse who can't stand long periods in the trailer). What? Is she KIDDING???

Highly hijackable thread. Have fun with it everybody. Highly hijackable thread. Have fun with it everybody. Highly hijackable thread. Have fun with it everybody. Highly hijackable thread. Have fun with it everybody. Highly hijackable thread. Have fun with it everybody.

If she doesn't like it in Oregon, she should just SAY so. Instead, she is following a completely illogical work non-situation and is insisting that we have our heads in the sand when it comes to careers (what???? is she JOKING? me???). And regardless, she should address our feelings.

Argh.

The End.

I gotta say -- feeling guilty for buying jammies seems like fun compared with bad weather, ungrateful inlaws, and hurtin' knees.

I spent the day in bed, battling a migraine. Between getting physically ill and letting the dog in and out, I noticed it was a chilly, windy day here in Michigan.

The headache finally let up at 5:00, and I was able to enjoy dinner with my Mom and my aunt, the have my evening chat with my 'friend'.

Oh yeah, my whole body hurts from raking my lawn.

Hi all. Havent been around much lately, been trying to deal with all the agonizing back pain I've been having. Had company all last week (definately overstayed their welcome!)... didnt get out much, didnt do much of anything but sleep to escape the pain. Now the pain in less severe, but I still aint doing a whole lot besides sleep and get on the computer after hubby goes to bed. Computer wont let me into chat, so all I can do is post.

Weather-wise, its been raining here in WA state after 2 weeks of solid sunshine, with temps darn near 70! Very strange for this time of year.

Oh yeah, my knees hurt, too. Darned arthritis!!!!!

Well, I didn't REALLY mean for this to turn in the daily weather thread, LOL It's just that the wind was playing tricks on me yesterday. I'm like "oooh, somebody's here" Then I looked at the messy house and thought "ewwww, somebody's here." hahahahaha

Maybe it's a good thing. Makes us take note of something outside of ourselves or the little cubicle we're stuck in.

Today at 8:30 a.m. it's sunny with a hint of a breeze, blue sky, no clouds, and probably high 40's. Haven't seen the bank clock yet.

Gotta run. Social worker meeting in 25 minutes and I'm just out of the shower.
