Hello Everyone:

I just wanted to say that I went to a large support group in person and I felt so extremely unsupported after the support group. While I was at the support group, I poured out my emotions but after the support group I had no one who came up to me in person and wanted to talk to me more or help me out. It made me feel so worthless and hopeless. I feel like I have to go to a lot of support groups just to recover from that support group. It seems so crazy. My life seems so crazy. I am such extremely intense emotions but I am so far from getting the help that I need. I have so much rage over not getting the help that I need. It would be so nice if someone at the end of the support group came up to me and took a sincere interest in me but did not judge me or tell me what to do. It is extremely difficult for me to go up to someone and try to get help. Why can't people(especially women) come up to me, without me going up to them and almost begging for help? Maybe I don't deserve help. I can understand why some people don't want to live.

Jon1968, Hello and welcome to PC.

I am sorry that these groups seem futile. I have found that I have to attend a lot of times in order to meet people. I also have times when no one comes up to me but I have found that many people are very shy and it is best to walk up to them. It does take going to a meeting consistently in order to meet people. I would walk up to the women and start a conversation. Most of the time we have to be the assertive one. Try this approach before you give up. You may be very surprised. Check out this forum as well.

The site has some great features to include a community calendar with weekly announcements. It also has a resource center. It takes a little while for your first 5 posts to appear as they are being evaluated. Browse the numerous forums and *social groups (*need to join) and post when and where you feel comfortable. If you need any help in navigating this site feel free to contact a community liaison or moderator. I hope that you find all of the answers that you are wishing for.

(((Jon1968))) Hello and welcome to Psych Central!!! It's nice to meet you. Sorry you had so much trouble in your support group. I don't do very well in them either. I think you will find everyone here very friendly and supportive. I'm shy and quiet in real life but I find I can open up here without feeling pressured or afraid. I hope you can feel the same as you get to know the other members. I look forward to seeing you around!!!
