Its like, i want to speak my mind--I hate HATE keeping stuff inside--but everytime i do, my friends always shut me down and act like its my fault. My one friend just doesnt understand that shes really been pissing me off lately. All she does is say how my other friend just acts depressed. And that i should just "stop getting randomly sad when we hang out and have fun". but I cant help it. It happens all the time. and i wish shed just realize shes just making me feel worse.

Lol. I hate chicks. Id rather have all guy friends.
Or no friends at all. hhaha.

Most people without mental illness never understand what its like for those who do.
Thanks for this!

Very true Thomas. I got dumped by my "best friends" after my mom died, because I wasn't "fun enough" anymore.
Those people just aren't worth it. They don't understand, and don't even try to. A real friend would at least make some effort to understand. I'm sorry they're treating you like that.

For the first time you can open your eyes
And see the world without your sorrow
Where no one knows the pain you left behind
And all the peace you could never find
Is waiting there to hold and keep you
Welcome to the first day of your life

Just open up your eyes as I lay you down tonight
Safe on the other side
No more tears to cry

Sounds like you are realizing that your friends aren't mature or knowlegeable enough to deal with your issues. Have you thought about writing your thoughts in a journal? That might air the issues for you. Or write and tell us what is bothering you--we'll listen and probably understand better. Lots of us have been there too! Take care--hope tomorrow is better!

The great thing about a community like this is that you get to share your feelings with people who understand your condition - because we are living it. I've had the same problem like you. As a child, when I had a problem I was told it was my fault. Eventually I started keeping things to myself and little by little started to sink into my own world. For many years I refused to share my innermost thoughts with anyone for fear I would upset them or affect their "mood". Now I know that's never a healthy approach to life. If those closest to you shut you down, find another forum to express yourself. We're here for you.

God! It makes me so ANGRY when "normal" people can't understand why we don't just "get a hold on ourself and snap out of it"!! Or another of my favorites is we are supposed to "pull ourself up by our bootstraps".

Ignorance...

I even had my T pull the bootstrap thing with me the last time I saw her. I couldn't believe it. Notice that I said the LAST time I saw her because it was.

Looking for a new one now... crap. gotta start over with someone new. not looking forward to it. Oh well. getting off subject.
